I haven’t even left yet and I already feel like I’ve been slacking on here. I’ve been moved out of my apartment since the end of May and June 5th was my last day of work making me homeless and unemployed. On Sunday June 7th I ran the Deadwood Mickelson Trail Half Marathon. Contrary to what I expected the weather ended up being perfect for running. The rain came early, stopped, and then started up again later in the day. I finished with a time of 2:59.19, not as fast I would have liked, but since it was my first time I was happy to finish alive, in less than 3 hours, and I didn’t have to stop and walk. Although I probably wasn’t running any faster than I could have walked. I’ll just have to run another one someday to see if I can improve my time.
I’ve spent the past week at my parents’ house slowly getting prepared for my trip. I got information the other day about the host families I will have in Austria. There will be a total of 6 between June 21st and September 23rd. Many of them have animals and/or a farm. I’m still waiting for information about my host families in Luxembourg, but I expect to have 3 or 4. I can’t believe this is really happen, I’m really going to do this, and in 5 days!

Wow, a lot more host families than I thought. But it'll give you a broader experience! Sweet deal. Good luck!

Have a safe and wonderful trip! This is what I got from Esther today.
ReplyDeleteIf Lacey has nothing better to do, she could always come to Zurich on 12 July and watch an Ironman. Right now, we have about 20 people coming over to cheer us on.
Hope all is well!
Take care,
